After nine years, two cities and one very patient cat, we are finally doing the thing. We would love you there for all of it — the vows, the long supper, the part of the night where the band refuses to stop.

The Auden Room
A converted mill room with high windows and an orchard terrace.
What to wear
Garden formal
Suits and summer dresses. Bring a block heel — the terrace is cobbled.
The day
How Saturday unfolds
A loose plan, so you know when to arrive, when to eat and when to find your dancing shoes.

Arrival & welcome
Find your name on the board in the entrance hall, take a cold drink and head through to the orchard terrace.
2:00 pm
Ceremony
Thirty unhurried minutes in the main room. Please be seated by ten to two — Elodie has promised to be on time and intends to keep it.
2:45 pm
Drinks in the orchard
Fizz, cordials and something salty. Group photographs happen around us rather than to us, so stay where you are.
5:00 pm
The long supper
Sharing plates down one enormous table. Seating is assigned, speeches are short, seconds are expected.
8:30 pm
Music & cake
Cake is cut, the band starts, and the terrace stays open for anyone who needs a quieter corner.
11:45 pm
Last dance
One final song, then a slow walk out through the orchard lights.
The setting
The Auden Room
A single tall room in an old grain mill: bare beams, five arched windows and doors that open straight onto the orchard. We fell for it in February, when it was cold and empty and still felt warm.
- Ceremony, supper and dancing all happen here — nothing to travel between.
- The terrace is cobbled and lit; the main room is step-free throughout.
- A shuttle runs from the village square before the ceremony and again at midnight.
- There are a handful of rooms above the mill, and two small inns within walking distance of the square.

Questions we've been asked
What does garden formal actually mean?
Whatever you'd wear to a summer wedding that spills outdoors. Linen suits, long dresses, good shoes you can stand in for six hours. Skip stilettos — the terrace cobbles will eat them.
Can I bring a guest?
Your invitation names everyone we've saved a seat for. The room holds what it holds, so if a name isn't on it we're afraid we can't stretch — no hard feelings either way.
Are children welcome?
Yes, and there's a quiet room off the hall with blankets, books and a door that shuts. Tell us their ages in the RSVP and we'll sort out food they'll actually eat.
I have a dietary requirement.
Write it in the RSVP box, however specific. The supper is mostly vegetables anyway, and the kitchen is happy to work around allergies.
What about gifts?
Genuinely nothing. We've lived together long enough to own three corkscrews. If you'd like to do something, a note in the RSVP box about how we met you is the gift we want.
Should I take photos?
During the ceremony, please keep phones down — we'd rather see faces. After that, photograph everything, and we'll share a place to send them once the dust settles.
